PERU TEXTILE AND ALPACA TOUR 2010

This journey has been designed to focus on the Peruvian textile-art and its most important sources, Alpaca and Vicuna. You will not only learn about the pre-Columbian textiles, but will also have the opportunity to see how the techniques, used by the Peruvian’s ancestors, have been preserved and are still used by many local communities and artisans. You will even have the opportunity to take part in a private textile workshop, where local experts will explain some of these techniques. During the tour, you will be in contact and even be hosted by art collectors, hacienda owners, and other fascinating individuals, providing you with a glimpse at the true “Peruvian lifestyle”.

The journey will not be complete without the visit to some of the most important archaeological and historical sites in Peru, including Machu Picchu, one of the recently elected Seven Wonders of the World. Its worth mentioning that one of the main attractions during the tour is the exotic Peruvian Cuisine, which is currently considered one of the top and most innovative cuisines in the world.
